Alan Weaver

Harbormaster

Alan is directly responsible for all phases of management of Marina Village Yacht Harbor in Alameda which was acquired by SRM Associates in 2006 and is one ofAlan Weaver the largest and most popular marinas on the bay with 750 berths and home to six yacht brokerages. Known as “much more that just a marina” Marina Village provides a high level of customer service and after being the Harbormaster here for 22 years Alan can be credited with steering the evolution with his attention to excellence.

After serving in the US Navy Alan worked in construction for several years before becoming manager of the Stockton Sailing Club in 1976. There he was responsible for the operation of their 250 berth marina and yacht club. After becoming SCUBA certified he also became part of the Underwater Search and Rescue Team for the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department. He then accepted the challenge to become the Harbormaster at Marina Bay Yacht Harbor in Richmond and his duties included hiring and training staff, berth leasing, advertising and supervising all electrical, plumbing and dock maintenance.

In addition to his work as a Harbormaster Alan ran the patrol boat for the City of Richmond, attended Boating Safety and Enforcement School and became certified in electrical safety, marine dredging, boating safety and boat noise enforcement.

Alan is currently a member of the Farallone Patrol and uses his lobster boat to deliver biologists and supplies to the Farallon Islands for research. He has a passion for sailing and spent over 40 years racing on San Francisco Bay. He has completed ten ocean races to Mexico in addition to sailing thousands of ocean miles with friends on their boats all over the world. In addition to sailing, he loves fishing, bike riding and scuba diving.
